Nervous System Technologies (NST)

Tactile sensing skin for robot hands and grippers

NST builds magnetic tactile sensor skin that gives robot hands, grippers, and teleoperation gloves contact location, normal force, and shear direction.

Robotic hand · Actuator — Tactile sensing for actuated hands

Placed at the fingertip, NST gives an actuated hand contact location, normal force, and shear direction without changing its fundamental mechanism.

Robotic hand · Tendon — Tactile sensing for tendon-driven hands

The same sensing layer conforms to tendon-driven fingers, tracking contact independent of cable tension.

Data collection / Teleoperation · Glove — Tactile sensing for teleoperation gloves

In a glove form factor, the sensing layer can capture contact alongside hand motion for teleoperation and manipulation-data workflows.

End effectors — Tactile sensing for industrial grippers

Applied to gripper jaws or multi-finger end effectors, NST adds contact information without requiring a new gripper architecture.
